Scope and intent

Tool pages are designed to help a visitor complete a task. Blog pages explain, compare, troubleshoot, or teach. We avoid publishing a second article when an existing page can answer the same primary intent more clearly.

Authorship and review

Every guide identifies its publisher or author. A shared editorial-team byline is a publisher identity, not a substitute for an individual expert credential. Individual reviewers are named only when their identity and contribution can be recorded.

Advice involving neck relief, nut work, intonation, string tension, or other setup changes should state its limits and recommend a qualified technician when an incorrect adjustment could damage the instrument.

Sources and evidence

We prefer evidence in this order:

1. Standards bodies, official product documentation, and reproducible product behavior.
2. Instrument manufacturers and established music-education sources.
3. Clearly identified first-hand tests with the device, browser, tuning, and date recorded.
4. Secondary explanations only when a primary source is not practical.

When a reference is listed, the page identifies the specific claim it was used to check. We do not add references to meet a numerical quota or imply that an article originated from the referenced page. A reference does not mean its publisher endorses this site. Commercial recommendations must disclose a material relationship.

AI and automation

Software, automation, or AI-assisted tools may be used for research organization, drafting, translation, or editing. Generated text is not treated as evidence. A guide should not be marked as reviewed or tested unless a person performed and recorded that work.

We do not invent hands-on experience, quotations, test results, author biographies, or reviewer credentials. Individual review is attributed only when that review was performed and recorded.

Dates and revisions

“Published” records the original publication date. “Updated” appears only after a material change to the advice, sources, structure, or tested behavior. Formatting-only deployments do not create a new modification date.

Corrections

Readers can report an error through the contact page. We check the affected claim, update it when warranted, and record a material revision date. A correction that changes the practical conclusion should be explained on the page.

Ongoing maintenance

We periodically review tuning and troubleshooting guides for accuracy, source quality, clear authorship, honest update dates, and useful links between learning content and the interactive tuner.
